International Women's Day is March 8, a global day celebrating the many achievements of women everywhere, and inspiring action to help forge a better, more inclusive world for women and girls.
In honor of the amazing team at TAMARA COMOLLI, we are delighted to highlight six incredible women who work behind the scenes to get it done.
Kate De' Ath
Managing Director
What is your proudest achievement?
Getting through each year and becoming a better version of the person I was last year. That and finally learning all the TAMARA COMOLLI product codes by heart.
Which women inspire you the most?
The women that support other women: the world is tough, and we all need support. The women at work cheering us on, the mothers at the school yard helping with pick-ups when we can’t make it, our friends that stop their own worlds when we need help in ours. The mothers, the sisters, the friends that become family, the stranger on the train that somehow offers a glance of support because somehow they just “know” … the real women of every day inspire me.
What message is the most important for young women to hear now?
Don't apologize for being a woman, don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it, embrace the unique perspective you bring to every table and celebrate it: it's your very own magic.
Renate Simbeck
Head of Fulfillment
What would you tell your younger self if you could go back to when you were just starting in your career?
Go ahead and travel the world, get to know different cultures and gain experience before you get settled in.
Which women inspire you the most?
There are a lot of great female leaders in history: Rosa Parks standing up for civil rights or Amelia Earhart, the first female pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Those women stand for many others, who have the courage to go a new path, do something that has never been done before. They did not care what other people said and believed in themselves.
What message is the most important for young women to hear now?
Don’t forget about “old fashioned” face-to-face communication, despite the world of social media. It is not the most important how many so-called friends or followers you have in your life – it is better to have a few, but very close friends in your life, that you can trust at any time.
Christina Reinelt
Head of Atelier
What is your proudest achievement?
My master craftsman title, which I passed and received 4 years ago.
Which women inspire you the most?
Strong women who don't care what society thinks. When a woman truly believes in what she is doing, she can create wonderful things.
What would you tell your younger self if you could go back to when you were just starting in your career?
Don’t let men tell you, you aren’t able to do craftwork. Don’t let anybody tell you, you cant
achieve things just because you are a girl. A woman who really wants to achieve something has the power to create, and nothing can stand in her way.
Sandra Vornweg
Boutique Manager, Rottach-Egern
What would you tell your younger self if you could go back to when you were just starting in your career?
Trust in life, there are many options and different ways to be successful in business. Sometimes you cannot take the direct way; be patient, life leads you to where you belong.
Which women inspire you the most?
For me, it is the self-made businesswomen like Tamara Comolli or Delia Lachance – founder of Westwing – who started with strong visions and built up their incredible businesses from scratch.
